Week 26 and it’s getting hot!

Absolutely loving the weather at the moment! The children are outdoors, having fun, BBQ’s on the go and everyone seems to be in great form. The weather really does make people happy!

I have managed to get a really bad ear infection though. Had to go on antibiotics which I don’t like doing while I’m Pregnant but it is the only way to get rid of the excrutiating pain. Am also taking paracetomol until the pain subsides.

Have felt the baby loads this week and the children are giving my tummy loads of hugs and chatting into my belly button telling it all the news. They are getting so excited about their new brother or sister. We met friends at the weekend that had a 7 month old baby. My eldest just wanted to hold him, make him laugh, push him around in his pram etc. Let’s just hope that the baby won’t be a novelty and she will enjoy doing that all the time. It is funny though looking at little girls playing mammy and my little boy couldn’t even be bothered. Obviously our maternal instincts kick in from a very young age.

I’m not normally one to moan but between the ear infection and the heat I feel exhausted. My OH is very good, very patient and he’s doing all the drops to montessori, cooking, cleaning etc. It’s not like me to sit around and do nothing but for once in my life I’m going to take it easy. My OH is constantly telling me to sit down, relax and not try to do as many things as I possibly can.

On that note he made the most amazing salad this week. It’s really worth a try if you fancy something light and tasty to go with a BBQ or even on its own. This is what he did:

Lettuce (we love the 3 type lettuce that comes in one bunch from Lidl)

Tomato
Cucumber
Spring Onion
Parma Ham, roughly chopped and tossed into the bowl (his words!)
Brie, cut into small pieces (we use a Brie made with pasteurised milk)

For the dressing:
Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Salt and Pepper
He didn’t state any quantities as it’s just to taste.
As always though, exercise caution when it comes to eating certain foods while pregnant!

Until next week – enjoy the weather!!
